Associate Scientist -- Neuroscience

Galenea is seeking candidates for an Associate Scientist position. This scientist will play a critical role in the development of a novel high-throughput screening platform designed to discover new treatments for cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia and other psychiatric and neurological disorders. He/she will be involved in the development of the different technologies required for this platform, the evaluation of these technologies in cell-based assays, and their integration into a working platform prototype. Candidates must have experience with and a strong understanding of primary neuronal cultures, cell-based assays, and imaging technologies. Electrophysiology experience is a plus. Candidates should have a PhD in a biological science and 0-4 years of experience.

 

Chemistry Openings

Galenea is currently seeking several highly motivated, talented medicinal chemists to join us in our soon to be completed, newly constructed, state of the art facility in Technology Square, Cambridge. The focus of chemistry will be the design and synthesis of novel small-molecules that modulate Galenea proprietary therapeutic targets. We have several openings in our new and expanding medicinal chemistry group. We are looking for individuals with a range of experience in synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry with a working knowledge of medicinal chemistry and drug design. Our chemists will interact with computational chemists, biochemists, cell biologists, and behavioral pharmacologists as part of Galenea’s highly integrated drug discovery teams. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A strong desire and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to team-based decisions is essential.

We have several openings at the Ph.D. (0-5 years experience) and Research Associate/Research Investigator levels (0-8 years experience). The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines.
